Amy Nicholas, M.D. is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist & Cataract Surgeon who has provided medical, laser & surgical eye care to central Maryland communities since 2013. Dr. Nicholas earned her medical degree at the Georgetown University Medical School where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the Medstar Georgetown University Hospital/Medstar Washington Hospital Center.

Dr. Nicholas sees patients for all types of medical & surgical eye care including cataracts, glaucoma, pterygia, ocular surface disease & dry eyes and has a special interest and expertise in bladeless laser cataract surgery and the use of advanced intraocular lens implants (IOL), including toric lens implants to correct astigmatism and multifocal lenses to help cataract surgery patients reduce their dependence on eyeglasses, bifocals or reading glasses, and achieve a full range of vision after cataract surgery. Dr. Nicholas offers patients comfortable, convenient, close to home same day ambulatory eye surgery at Montgomery Surgery Center and Frederick Surgical Center.
